Nimo Water Project (NWP) is a community-based project focused on providing clean, potable water to each of the three Nimo Quarters (Etiti, Ifite-enu, and Ifite-ani). The main objectives of the water project are to:

  1. Eradicate/Alleviate sicknesses caused by water-borne diseases,
  2. Provide clean, potable water readily to villagers
  3. Eliminate the task of searching for potable water especially during the dry season.

Two water projects will be constructed in each of the three quarters (Etiti, Ifite-enu, and Ifite-ani) in Nimo. Each water project site will be equipped with:

  1. Drilled water source well fitted with a solar submersible pump
  2. Water tank stand carrying two or more water tanks
  3. Solar equipment as primary power source for the submersible pump and perimeter lights
  4. Three or more water dispensers (faucets).
  5. Solid brick perimeter walls accessible through an entry iron gate.

Community involvement is essential for the success of the water project. Each Quarter (community) will be required to provide two small land areas within the community for installation of the water projects. Ownership of the land area provided for the projects will revert to the community at the end or termination of the projects. Chimnyelugo Charities and Scholarships Foundation (CCSF) will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and operation of the water projects in each community. NWP is financed entirely by CCSF.
